Open-world GTA-inspired title

Guns of Leone - Liberty Story is a free-to-play action game from IndieNight, taking a few cues from the Grand Theft Auto series. This open-world game is set in Gang City and puts you in charge of an everyday guy as he starts to raise funds, collect weapons, and climb the seedy underbelly of the city. It has a good amount of content, plus a variety of NPCs to interact with.

Featuring the standard game controls and a fully 3D environment, Guns of Leone - Liberty Story is a fun indie project for players looking to enjoy some GTA-kind of fun.

Rise to the top of Gang City

Playing Guns of Leone - Liberty Story would give players a hint that it is inspired by GTA. For example, the Rockstar franchise has a game titled Liberty City Stories which is a spinoff of the main games. Other than that, the open-world adventure and the freedom to follow quests or just roam around would make GTA players immediately at home with this game.

Content-wise, it’s not as expansive as other AAA games, but it has enough to keep you occupied. Accomplish missions for a variety of NPC characters, with each endeavor increasing your influence and your resources. One unusual feature, however, is that you can use gems and cash to upgrade your character, increasing stats that make you inherently stronger and make it easier to beat up gangsters.

As for the interface, it uses the standard RPG controls, making it easy to get into. One interesting feature of this game is that you’re always wanted. Even as you try to live peacefully, law enforcement agencies will always chase and attack the player’s character. This adds a challenge to the game. Aside from minor rendering and camera placement issues that make the game look buggy, it works generally well.

A fun, casual RPG experience

Despite minor optimization issues, particularly in its camera movement and the rendering of certain in-game assets, Guns of Leone - Liberty Story is a fun game. If you’re looking for a mobile alternative for GTA-type of games, this is worth a shot. The controls are easy and intuitive, it features a good range of content to enjoy, and the constant wanted status makes the game challenging.

PROS

  • Features an open world
  • Full 3D environment
  • Good range of NPCs
